General / Passenger Information

Greece is the southernmost nation on the European mainland. It has a long, eventful history due in part to its geographical and political status as the crossroads of many Western and Eastern cultures and civilizations. A politically and economically stable country in modern times, Greece is as lively as it is beautiful. Travelers will enjoy the astonishing variety of ecosystems, thrilling sightseeing, and shopping in ambient temperatures. The climate is generally dry and temperate, although snow is common in the mountains and the northern regions, where ski resorts operate during the winter.

Athens is the largest and most populous city in Greece. It is a modern city, but visitors can still walk along the narrow streets at the base of the Acropolis in the old city, known as Plaka.
